Squirrel Park Kiosk

About The Project

The Kiosk at Squirrel Park is a critical infrastructure component of the Beck Barn / Activation Project led by Purdue Research Foundation within the Discovery Park District in West Lafayette, Indiana. The project includes the design, construction, and outfitting of a multi‑functional kiosk building that will provide public restrooms, serve as a centralized programming and operations hub, and support community‑facing amenities such as digital signage and interactive displays. The broader Activation Project represents approximately $4.5 million in prior investment by PRF and partners, including Purdue University (contributing $1.5M), to redevelop Squirrel Park and renovate the historic Beck Barn as a vibrant public gathering space. READI funds will specifically support kiosk construction to enable scalable programming, increase park usability, and enhance visitor experience. The kiosk will support year‑round activities including markets, cultural festivals, educational workshops, and wellness events through partnerships with Greater Lafayette Commerce, the City of West Lafayette, and Tippecanoe County. The project strengthens placemaking efforts, workforce attraction, and regional quality of life. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2026 and conclude by September 2027.
