White Oaks on the Lake is enhancing Monticello, Indiana, with new amenities and attractions. This project includes walking trails across 60 acres and transforming the historic Pirates Roost into a year-round banquet hall. The improvements will extend White Oaks’ season, drawing visitors year-round for events and lodging. Preliminary designs are complete, with final plans set for August–November 2025. Construction is expected to begin in January 2026 and finish by December 2026. Carroll County will provide matching funds for infrastructure upgrades, including roads and stormwater drainage. These enhancements are expected to attract visitors from over 60 miles away, boosting the local economy by creating jobs, offering accommodations, and providing an updated venue for weddings and events. The READI Grant will fund walking trails and the banquet hall renovation.
